Let's talk about sex

A documentary about the impact of family dynamics on a teenager’s sexual development.

I was tasked with creating an individual project at school that was related to friction. Sexuality, particularly how families approach discussing it, intrigued me deeply.

Growing up, my family rarely discussed sex, unlike my friends’ families who were more open about it. This prompted me to question how this lack of conversation at home may have influenced my own sexual development.

To investigate, I decided to create a documentary. I interviewed my mother, friends, teachers, fellow students, and a professional, aiming to understand the impact of family dynamics on a teenager’s sexual development.

This project allowed me to bring my vision to life, though in hindsight, I would have made some editing adjustments. Nevertheless, I’m proud of completing extensive research, filming, and editing within seven weeks. I’m eager to pursue similar projects in the future.

If you’re curious about my findings, you can watch the documentary at the bottom of this page.
